CIAS (pron: seeyus) will be administered by the Canterbury Insurance Assistance Trust Board which consists of the following five members: Kiri Hider (strong community links and health sector experience), Ali Jones (extensive experience in the media and director of Ali Jones PR and Communications Ltd), Mike Coleman (considerable experience working both in the community and as a counsellor), Deon Swiggs (broad community contacts and founder of Rebuild Christchurch Foundation) and Jacob Wolt (financial adviser – CFPcm, AFA, AIF).
CIAS is in the process of registering as an incorporated society (completion is expected by July 15, 2013). In addition CIAS is applying for Charitable Trust status, which may take a further 2-5 months. A grant of $200,000 will be provided to CIAS by the Christchurch City Council when this status is achieved. Additional avenues of funding will be sourced.
CIAS will appoint a Project Facilitator to work closely with the Trust Board to establish systems and policies, and implement them. Once established and underway, two case workers will be employed, with a view to employing more when funding and demand requires it.
